Dr. Jason Sherbel

Dr. Jason Sherbel is a dual-board-certified orthodontist and dental sleep medicine provider who is passionate about helping patients breathe, sleep, and live better. A three-time graduate of the University of Michigan, he earned his Bachelor of Science (BS), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and Master of Science (MS) degrees while completing his orthodontic specialty training at the University of Michigan. He later completed advanced training in dental sleep medicine through the University’s Mini-Residency program, where he now serves as Course Faculty.
Dr. Sherbel is board certified by both the American Board of Orthodontics and the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine—an achievement held by only a small number of providers nationwide. His clinical expertise bridges orthodontics, airway-focused care, and the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea using custom mandibular advancement devices for patients seeking an alternative to CPAP. His background in technology and research, including work using virtual reality to improve treatment planning, reflects his commitment to innovation and exceptional patient care.
Dr. Sherbel provides care through two complementary practices in the Metro Detroit area. In addition to his work in dental sleep medicine, he offers airway-focused orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults alongside his wife, Dr. Mary Sherbel, at their family practice. His combined experience in orthodontics and dental sleep medicine enhances his ability to tailor oral appliance therapy for optimal comfort, effectiveness, and long-term results.
